How should the automotive clearcoat on our cars be protected?

In our last sharing, we introduced to you the role of car varnish, which can make the paint emit more vivid colors and protect the car paint. But the car varnish is usually located on the outermost layer of the car paint, exposed to the air, the first to be damaged is our car varnish. So, how do we protect our car varnish and extend its service life?

To protect the automotive clear coat on our cars, we can take the following steps:

1. Regularly wash the car with a mild car soap and soft sponge to remove dirt, grime and other contaminants that can scratch the clear coat.

2. Apply a high-quality wax or sealant to the clear coat to provide an extra layer of protection against UV rays, weathering, and oxidation.

3. Avoid parking the car in direct sunlight or under trees that can drop sap, pollen or other substances that can damage the clear coat.

4. Use a microfiber towel or chamois to dry the car after washing, instead of letting it air dry, which can leave water spots that can etch the clear coat.

5. Avoid using abrasive or acidic cleaners, as well as automatic car washes that use brushes or harsh chemicals that can scratch or damage the clear coat.
